Overview of the Wine
Constantly. Our wine-growing company is placed in the historic city centre of the free town of Rust. The vineyards are extending over an area of 5,5ha widespread around Rust. Our family has grown wine for lots of generations. Nowadays Gernot Schreiner is cultivating his precious vineyards.
It is our intention to keep the valuable soil of our vineyards healthy. Therefore for instance we cultivate green manure using different kinds of flowers and herbs, force the spreading of beneficial organisms and negate using conventional chemical protection. We are convinced of ecological viniculture. As a reason of this we applied for the certificate of a organic wine growing company in 2008. The harvest 2012 will be certified organic.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes
Rhodolith is an unusual stone of petrified algae, found in limestone form on the surface of the vineyard. Gernot made us an irresistible offer in the interests of showing you what he can achieve with Blaufränkisch beyond his excellent basic wines. Made from a special clone of the grape and aged for 14 months in second- use large barrels, this gorgeous wine sports a deep colour, svelte texture and fantastically pure flavour, predicatably suffused with the iron tone that makes this variety so distinctive. Like all Schreiner wines, the value is improbable for the quality.
92 Points – Wine Enthusiast
There is an overtone of charcoal and citrus on the broodingly dark nose, followed by black cherry. The palate is balanced, fresh and concentrated, and it carries its rich, dark cherry fruit with much poise. This is dense but not heavy and has a dry, juicy, appetizing finish.
